New Orleans Federal Alliance (NOFA)

Dedicated to the Development of New Orleans

The New Orleans Federal Alliance (NOFA) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization chartered to spearhead development efforts of the Federal City Project on the Naval Support Activity New Orleans (NSA NO), located in the Algiers section of New Orleans. Founded in 2004, NOFA consists of retired senior military leadership, the State Economic Development Office, and other private sector professionals dedicated to bringing the Federal City concept to reality. The State of Louisiana and the City of New Orleans are strongly committed to the Federal City Project. With the cooperation of the Louisiana Department of Economic Development, NOFA was created to implement the Project. In addition to the full support of the State and the City of New Orleans, Federal City enjoys the bipartisan sponsorship of the entire Louisiana congressional delegation. The day-to-day operations of NOFA are funded by the State.

The Algiers Development District of the City of New Orleans is a special taxing district (TIF) created by state legislation. The special taxing district is comprised of all territory within the fifteenth ward (Algiers) of Orleans Parish, State of Louisiana. The district has been designated as a local redevelopment authority for Federal City military base realignment purposes and has been authorized to incur debt, including revenue bonds from revenue sources for its enumerated purposes. ADD’s vision is to advance Algiers to be the best for its residents, schools, businesses and community. ADD’s 2010-2011 Board of Commissioners include:
